Change your Window XP startup screen

Logon Loader allows you to simply and easily change your Windows XP startup screen without any specialist knowledge.

Simply download the startup screen that you'd like displayed when you start Windows and once set, the picture will be shown every time you start Windows XP. You can load as many pictures or images as you want so that when you want to change it, you can do so easily simply by selecting another picture. You can even program it to cycle through screens so that you've got a different picture every time you start Windows. If you're not sure if your images are the right resolution for the Windows XP start screen then you can easily preview how it will look before uploading it permanently into Login Loader. All you need to do this is a screen shot of the login screen you'd like to use.

This is a very simple way to personalize Windows XP and is so easy to use, it makes you wonder why Microsoft don't install it as standard with XP.

Fences for Desktop customization

Click to see larger imagesFences is an app that allows you to organize your desktop icons into categories to un-clutter your workspace. The latest version, Fences 2.0, adds new features to help you get and stay organized even faster.
The interface of the newer version is much like before. The fences look the same - they're clean and blend well, and you can adjust the transparency and color to suit your needs. You'll also still be able to easily sort your files and program icons into multiple fences on your desktop. One of our favorite features, Auto-Organizer, also lets you choose which files will automatically go into the fence you specify--this is handy if you frequently add new files to your computer.
Fences 2.0 also comes with a couple new features, Folder Portals and Desktop Pages. Folder Portals lets you create a fence from any folder and organize the contents on your desktop for quick access. Desktop Pages lets you set up multiple screens, each with their own set of fences, and navigate between them just by clicking and dragging. While we found it fairly easy to set up and use the fences, we liked the user guidance and tutorials so you can make sure you're using Fences to its fullest potential.
Users who are overwhelmed by desktop clutter will like the flexibility of Fences 2.0. The installation is easy and quick and you can try the product free for 30 days to see if it's right for you.

To use, simply right-click on a folder and pick a color under Colorize! - it couldn't be easier. By clicking on Colors..., you'll be able to manage your Folder Colorizer options. There's a list of the default colors, and below the option to add new ones. If you don't like a color, simply hit the 'x' in the top right corner.

To add a new color, pick one from the color wheel and hit +Add color. It goes without saying that Folder Colorizer also has an option to restore your folder's original yellow.
